1. Who are we

Golfwire.com, LLC ("Golfwire.com", "we", "us") operates golfwire.com (the "Site") and the Golfwire.com mobile application (the "App"), together the "Services". 2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you give us when you create an account

We offer three account types, and what we collect depends on which one you create.

Company accounts — for businesses publishing content:

•     Company name

•     Job title

•     Account email address

•     Account owner's full name

•     Phone number

•     Password

Reader accounts — free accounts for following content:

•     Name

•     Email address

•     Phone number

•     Password

•     Alternatively, if you sign in with Google, the information Google shares with us (name, email address, and Google account identifier)

Media accounts — for press and media professionals:

•     Name

•     Email address

•     Phone number

•     Password

•     A credential document verifying your media affiliation (press badge, letter from an editor, published article, or media company ID)

2.2 How we use you phone number

We collect your phone number to send one-time passcodes for account login and verification. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

2.3 Credential documents

Media account applications require a document verifying media affiliation. These documents are:

•     Reviewed by a single authorized member of our team

•     Stored in a private, non-public location that is not accessible by public URL

•     Deleted once the application has been reviewed

We do not use these documents for any purpose other than verifying media eligibility.

2.4 Payment information

Paid publishing is processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We use Stripe's hosted Checkout, which means your card details are submitted directly to Stripe and never pass through or get stored on our systems. We retain records of transactions — amounts, dates, plan or product purchased, and billing contact — but not full payment card numbers.

2.5 Information collected automatically

When you use the Services we collect:

•     IP address and approximate location derived from it

•     Browser type, device type, and operating system

•     Pages viewed, links clicked, time spent, and referring website

•     Interactions with content, such as articles read and companies followed

Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies. See Section 4.

2.6 Bot prevention

Our signup forms use Google reCAPTCHA, which collects device and behavioral information to distinguish humans from automated scripts. reCAPTCHA is governed by Google's own privacy policy and terms.

2.7 What we do not collect

We do not collect precise geolocation, biometric identifiers, health information, government-issued identification numbers, financial account numbers, or information about racial or ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, or union membership.

3. How we use information

•     Create and maintain your account, and authenticate logins

•     Deliver the Services, including publishing and distributing content you submit

•     Process payments and manage subscriptions

•     Verify media credentials

•     Respond to support requests

•     Send transactional messages — receipts, account notices, security alerts, one-time passcodes

•     Send marketing and product communications by email (see Section 5)

•     Measure how the Services are used and improve them

•     Detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse, and security incidents

•     Comply with legal obligations

4. Cookies and tracking

4.1 What we use

•     Essential cookies — required for login, security, and core functionality. These cannot be turned off.

•     Analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, used to understand how the Site is used.

•     Advertising cookies — set by advertising platforms we work with, used to measure the performance of our advertising and to show our ads to people who have visited the Site.

4.2 How consent works, by region

European Union and United Kingdom Residents: non-essential cookies are not set until you consent. You can accept or decline through our cookie banner, and change your choice at any time. Transfers out of the UK are made under the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and transfers out of the EEA under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses / an adequacy decision. A copy of the relevant safeguard is available upon request from legal@golfwire.com.

United States Residents: non-essential cookies may be set when you arrive. You may opt out at any time through our cookie banner or by using a browser privacy signal, as described below.

California Residents: We do not disclose personal information to third parties for those third parties’ own direct marketing purposes. California residents may confirm this by contacting legal@golfwire.com.

Canadian Residents: Except as restricted by law, are entitled to access their personal information collected by Golfwire.com by writing to: legal@Golfwire.com. Golfwire.com may ask you to pay an administrative fee for accessing or copying your information, but will inform you of the anticipated charges and confirm before processing your request. If you believe information collected is incomplete or inaccurate, Golfwire.com will correct the information upon verification of the omission or error and the identity of the person requesting the change.

 International users

The Services are operated from the United States. Information we collect is processed and stored in the United States — our infrastructure is hosted in Amazon Web Services' Northern Virginia region, and our Zoho account is on Zoho's United States datacenter in Arizona. If you use the Services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

 4.3 Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of non-essential tracking and will not set analytics or advertising cookies, regardless of where you are located.

5. Marketing communications

When you create an account, we may send you marketing and product emails about Golfwire.com. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time, either through that link or in your account settings. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages related to your account, billing, or security. We do not send promotional SMS.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money.

We share information with:

•     Service providers who perform functions on our behalf under contract: Stripe (payments), Zoho (email delivery, customer support, customer records), Amazon Web Services (hosting), Google (analytics and bot prevention).

•     Advertising partners, who receive information about your visit through advertising cookies in order to measure and deliver our advertising.

•     The public, where you choose to publish. Content submitted for publication, including your company profile and author attribution, is public by design.

•     Legal and safety recipients, where disclosure is required by law, or necessary to enforce our terms, investigate fraud or abuse, or protect the rights and safety of Golfwire.com, our users, or others.

•     A successor entity, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

7. Your choices and rights

Regardless of where you live, you can:

•     Access and update your account information in your account settings

•     Unsubscribe from marketing emails

•     Opt out of non-essential cookies through our banner or a GPC signal

•     Request deletion of your account and associated personal information

7.1 Managing cookies in your browser

Separately from our banner, you can control cookies through your browser settings — blocking all cookies, blocking third-party cookies only, or deleting cookies already stored. Each browser handles this differently; look for “Privacy” or “Cookies and site data” in your browser's settings or help pages.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in and may stop parts of the Services working. Blocking analytics and advertising cookies has no effect on functionality.

Browser-level controls apply to that browser on that device only, so you will need to repeat them elsewhere.

Depending on your state or country of residence, you may also have the right to:

•     Know what personal information we collect and how we use it

•     Request a copy of your personal information

•     Request correction of inaccurate information

•     Request deletion

•     Opt out of sale or sharing of personal information, and of targeted advertising

•     Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights

To make a request, contact us at legal@golfwire.com. We will respond within 45 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

8. Data retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active, and for 90 days after you close it, so we can resolve any outstanding issues and meet our legal obligations. After that period we delete or de-identify it.

Credential documents are deleted after review (Section 2.3).

Content you published remains available on the Services after your account closes. Press releases and articles form part of the industry record we maintain, and removing them would break links and archives. You may request removal of a specific item and we will consider it case by case.

Transaction and billing records are retained for seven years, as required by tax and accounting law.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and restricting access to personnel who need it. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

The Services are intended for business and professional use and are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it and close the account. If you are under the age of 18, do not submit any information to Golfwire.com without the express consent and participation of your parent or guardian If you believe your child under the age of 13 has provided Golfwire.com with personal data without your consent, please contact Golfwire.com immediately. If we become aware that a child under 13 (or under the age of 16 in certain jurisdictions) has provided us with personal data, Golfwire.com will take reasonable steps to delete the personal data as soon as possible and terminate the child’s account.

If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us at legal@golfwire.com.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top and, where required, notify you directly. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Links: We may provide links to affiliated entities and to other websites. These sites operate independently of Golfwire.com and have established their own privacy and security policies. For the best online experience, please review the privacy policies and terms before submitting any personal information through other websites.

Consent to Transfer: The Site is operated in the United States (“US”). If you are outside the US, the information you provide to Golfwire.com will be transferred to and within the US. By using the Site or App and providing personal information through the Site or App, you consent to this transfer.

Updates to this Statement: Golfwire.com reserves the right to make changes at any time to its policies and/or alter the look and functionality of the Site. If there are changes to the use of your personal information, Golfwire.com will post the policy change and update this Statement accordingly. Golfwire.com encourages you to periodically review this Statement for updated information on privacy and security policies. By using the Site or App, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy. No physical signature is necessary for this Agreement to have legal effect and to be binding upon the Parties.
